Limewash Shawl

This pattern is currently on pre-order. If you purchase it now you will receive an information file with the pattern details. The pattern will then be sent to you on the release date: 16 November 2023.

Have you ever been to a Suffolk village in the UK? The area is known for its pretty coloured houses, particularly “Suffolk Pink” . The colours in this shawl remind me of those houses which is why the shawl is named Limewash, after the type of paint used on those houses. If you want to get an idea of what I’m talking about, have a look here at pictures of Bridge Street in Bungay or of Aldeburgh Beach. Gorgeous!

This shawl is big, drapey, and like a yarny cuddle. It uses simple techniques so perfect for beginners or those with a love of squishy garter stitch shawls. Pick a main colour that will look lovely near your face and enjoy picking out your contrast colours, as bright or as muted as you like!

b. Contrast Colours: 42 metres (46 yards) of each of 3 colours or 126 metres (138 yards) in total.

Good substitutions would include any yarn of a similar weight and blend. A drapey yarn with a sheen will give a similar “vibe” to the original.
